Notices are up and the plastic is going!

From Monday April 1st we will no longer provide single use plastic bottles. Our student council has arranged to distribute a free refillable bottle to all students and staff. These can be filled at our new automatic bottle fillers and water fountains.

***from April 1st students will no longer receive water from the canteen counter – instead they will need to top up their own bottle***

We are committed to a healthier, cleaner and greener environment for all.

Members of the Student Council are pictured with their teacher Mr Brendan Garragher, Principal Mr Brian O’Donoghue and Fianna Fáil environment spokesman Timmy Dooley TD. The students have organised a recycling initiative within the school.

Our lovely new Student Council badges!

Congratulations and well done to Katie, Rhiannon, Shay and Anthony who travelled to Mary I for the day on 24th of March 2017. The day was run by the ISSU and students representing many Students Councils in the region got together to work on issues of relevance to young people today. They came back with many great ideas and these were shared with senior management.

Thank you to the Student Council for organising a lovely cake sale on fri 7th of April 2017.


The student council of Ennis Community College and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir had a training session this week, led by Donal Fitzgibbon, facilitator/trainer with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. They are pictured above with Mr Fitzgibbon (left), and (right) Ms Heffernan and Vice-Principal Ms Walsh.

Student Council training will be provided by the LCETB on 11th Novemeber 2016.

Student Council members attended Comhairle na nOg in the West County Hotel on 20th Oct 2016.

Student Council elections took place this year in October 2016.

David, our Student Council chairperson of last year, represented Ireland at a meeting of international student unions in Iceland in October 2016.

A very enjoyable Talent Show was organised by the Student Council in the first term of 2015-2016.

The Student Council are organising a fundraiser for Chernobyl on Monday 12th May 2014. The Students Council members have put in a tremendous amount of work into making this happen. Please support them on the day. They are asking for a donation of 3 euro each.
