Student Council training will be provided by the LCETB on 11th Novemeber 2016.

Student Council members attended Comhairle na nOg in the West County Hotel on 20th Oct 2016.

Student Council elections took place this year in October 2016.

David, our Student Council chairperson of last year, represented Ireland at a meeting of international student unions in Iceland in October 2016.

A very enjoyable Talent Show was organised by the Student Council in the first term of 2015-2016.

Congratulations to the Girls U16 Basketball team who won the tournament today in Kildysart. They defeated St John Bosco (30-14) and St Joseph’s Spanish Point (24-21). Síofra Ní Chonaill was named ‘Player of the Match’. Special thanks to their trainer, Ms McElligot.

Mr Cooke with David Dyksy, Sixth Year

Well done to David Dyksy who has just returned from a visit to the Icelandic Youth Parliament, with Clare Comhairle na nÓg.

During the exchange they examined the idea of youth democracy, and presented a workshop based on the work of Clare Comhairle na nÓg over the past two years, which has been focused on mental health, and sexual health and relationships. They also premiered a film they had produced.

David is currently working with Comhairle na nÓg on a number of projects, including a nationwide survey of the Irish Education System.

Well done to everyone involved in Maths Week this week, at Ennis Community College and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir. Activities have been ongoing throughout the week and there’s been a lot of fun and learning.

Gabriel Kehinde with his Munster Schools Indoor Games medal.

Congratulations to Gabriel Kahinde who won two All-Ireland medals in the club finals during the summer holidays. He also broke the U16 record in the 100m sprint with a time of 11.48 seconds.

In the Community Games he came second in the 200m sprint and his relay team came third.

Well done Gabriel!
