On 13th February Ennis Community College opened its doors to welcome back our past pupils, retired staff and friends to walk down memory lane.

The following is reprinted from The Clare Champion dated Friday February 21, 2014, with their kind permission:

It was a trip down memory lane for visitors to Ennis Community College when the school celebrated an historic 75th year of educating the county’s young people. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the school held an open day with past pupils, young and old, invited to walk the corridors of the school and recall their
schooldays.

Ennis Community College will celebrate its 75th anniversary on 13th February with a special open evening, and a dinner at the Temple Gate Hotel.

A new online newsletter has been launched for the Ennis Community College campus, which aims to keep readers abreast of the wide range of activity in its three schools.

Careers Day at Ennis Community CollegeOn Thursday 24th October, a Careers Day was held at Ennis Community College and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir. The aim of the event was for the students to have the opportunity to speak with people from various careers and get an insight into the world of work.

The event was organised by the 5th Year Leaving Cert Vocational Programme (LCVP) students of both schools assisted by teachers Ann Considine and Elizabeth Moroney They invited representatives of a variety of careers to attend and answer questions about career opportunities, qualifications needed and their daily work.

Bit It Roadshow

The ‘Bin It Roadshow’ came to Ennis Community College to remind students of the importance of correct disposal of waste – especially chewing gum.  Teacher Orla McDonagh is pictured with ‘Doc’ from the ‘Bin It Roadshow’ and Gerry Murphy of Ennis Town Council, together with a group of first year students
