The 1st years of Ennis Community College now have a unique way to check their timetables. Their year head, Mr O’Rourke in collaboration with art teacher, Miss Mc Dermott, ran a competition to create a logo for each class. The winning designs were placed on a keyring with their timetable on the reverse. Each student in the class received one of these keyrings and will never again forget what class they have next!

The competition was judged by the principal Mr Cooke, French teacher Mr Carragher, and two senior students, Linda Gajda and Marzena Malysko.

The winners received a prize, as well as the satisfaction of having their design represent their class.

The winners were John Sweeney for Class Hazel, Maria Torres for Class Elm and Peter Quinn for Class Iris. Well done to all involved!

Shoppers in Ennis could have been forgiven recently for thinking that the statues had come to life and gone walking among them.

But it was only the students of Ennis Community College and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir, with an innovative art project designed to promote the upcoming Winter Fashion Show and Christmas Fair being held in aid of the schools.

First year parents Coffee morning.

A big thank you to all who joined us in the canteen for the coffee morning for first year parents last week.  It was great to see so many new faces.  There was a lively chat about the challenges that face families when their children start attending secondary school.  There were many questions about the new junior Cert programme, exam levels and even progression on to college.  It is a great opportunity for parents to get to know staff members in an informal way.  There will be another coffee morning after Christmas to check in with parents and to reflect on the journey so far.

As the family room nears completion we hope to make the coffee morning a regular thing for our parents at ECC. The Aim is to the use time to provide access to information about the school and education in general.

Staff and students at Ennis Community College and Gaelcholáiste an Chláir are as busy as elves in preparation for the Winter Fashion Show and Christmas Fair which will be held in Treacy’s West County Hotel on the 26th of November.
